Seefeld Austria

A haven for cross-country skiers: Set on a sunny plateau high above Innsbruck, the village of Seefeld is undoubtedly one of the world’s leading cross-country skiing centres. Beginners and experts alike can enjoy kilometre after kilometre of perfectly prepared trails stretching across open plains and into dense forests. Seefeld hosted the Nordic events at the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics and regularly welcomes the world’s best cross-country skiers and biathletes for World Cup competitions. The village itself is luxurious and exclusive, with a remarkable concentration of four- and five-star hotels for a place of its size. At the same time, both visitors and locals can enjoy plenty of activities: tobogganing and downhill skiing in winter, and everything from gentle walks to demanding high-alpine hikes in summer. Thanks to its sheltered location, Seefeld is one of the most snow-sure resorts in Austria, and also one of the few that attracts as many guests in summer as it does in winter.
