Abbadia San Salvatore is a town (comune) in the Province of Siena in the Italian region of Tuscany, located about 110 kilometres (68 miles) south‑east of Florence and about 60 kilometres (37 miles) south‑east of Siena, in the Monte Amiata area. Today, Abbadia San Salvatore is one of the most important tourist centres on Mount Amiata and in Tuscany as a whole. Over the years, accommodation options for both winter and summer have been expanded and various events are organised. In the village of Abbadia, whose boundaries stretch up to the summit of Monte Amiata, there are facilities for winter sports and 12 km of ski slopes. From the village, which is surrounded by chestnut forests, you can access nature trails suitable for hiking and horse riding.
