Aydin Turcaí

Aydin is fast becoming one of the standout cities in the Aegean region. It has a number of distinctive features, including its main agricultural products of figs, olives, strawberries and cotton. Because the Seljuks ruled the region for such a long time, it’s very clear that Aydin’s architectural style is heavily influenced by them. The city is especially strong in traditional folklore performance and dance, known as “Zeybek”, where dancers perform in groups at a set pace and in traditional dress. Aydin is also full of historical monuments that are well worth a visit. The annual camel wrestling events are said to be held in some of the city’s villages.
