Bari (Province) Italy

The arable land in the former province of Bari is used to grow olives and grapes, as well as cherries, peaches and almonds. This agricultural activity produces olive oil, wine and table grapes. Bitonto is especially renowned for its extra virgin olive oil, and Corato, Coratina and Giovinazzo are also notable producing areas. Wine production is mainly concentrated in Gravina and Ruvo di Puglia, in the north of Bari, and Adelfia, Noicattaro, Rutigliano and Locorotondo, in the south. Cherry production is also important; the Apulian red variety is especially common in the countryside around Turi and Putignano.
