Battipaglia is a town and municipality in the province of Salerno, in the Campania region of south‑western Italy. The third most populous town in its province, the city is renowned for the production of buffalo mozzarella as well as for its varied agricultural crops, which make it one of the most productive areas of the Sele plain (of which it is also the main industrial hub).
