Bocas del Toro Panama

Bocas del Toro is a province in Panama, made up of the Bocas del Toro Archipelago, Almirante Bay and the Chiriquí Lagoon. The capital is the town of Bocas del Toro on Colón Island. The province has two national parks: Isla Bastimentos National Marine Park and La Amistad International Park. The Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute runs a research station on Colón Island, just northwest of Bocas Town. The area is known for its many banana plantations, often called the oro verde, or green gold, of Central America. You should also visit Bocas del Drago, a beach on the north coast of Colón Island.
