Combarro Spain

Combarro is a parish in the municipality of Poio, in the Galician province of Pontevedra, Spain. Until the early 20th century it was an independent municipality. The 1999 census recorded 1,567 inhabitants and the 2004 census 1,668. It is a fishing village, close to both the provincial capital, Pontevedra (7 km), and other well-known towns such as Sanxenxo. Its most notable feature is the old quarter, with a large number of hórreos (traditional stone granaries) and stone crosses, as well as the parish church. It has been declared a protected cultural asset, recognised both as a Historic Complex and as a Historic Site.
