Coslada Spain

Coslada is a city and municipality in the autonomous community of Madrid in central Spain. As of 2019, the mayor of Coslada is Ángel Viveros. The Dry Port of the Community of Madrid is located in Coslada, making the city a strategic hub. Because it is so close to Madrid–Barajas Airport, the Puerto Seco rail terminal, and central Madrid, the chain of industrial towns from Madrid to Guadalajara along the A-2 motorway (known as the Corredor del Henares and more recently the “golden mile” of online sales) has, since the 1990s, developed into a logistics hub, similar to the East Midlands in England, with the whole area now offering a total of 5.7 million m² of logistics space. With investment from foreign funds and REITs, the logistics sector has expanded rapidly thanks to the rise in online shopping. As Coslada has begun to run out of space, other logistics companies have started to move into nearby towns such as Marchamalo, San Fernando de Henares, and Torija.
