Cavenago di Brianza Italy

Cavenago di Brianza is part of the Province of Milan and lies between the Molgora Stream and the Vallone River, to the north-east of the regional capital. It has around 6,300 inhabitants and is located within the Le Foppe Protected Area, which forms part of the Rio Vallone Park. Its origins date back to the late ninth century, and its name may be linked either to the abundance of game in the area or to the many vineyards that once dotted the surrounding countryside. Notable places to visit in Cavenago di Brianza include Palazzo Rasini, built between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and preserving important stuccoes by Andrea Appiani, and the Church of Santa Maria in Campo, whose interior is decorated with an important cycle of frescoes by Bernardino Luini.
