Giovinazzo Italy

Giovinazzo (Barese: Scevenàzze) is a town, comune (municipality) and former bishopric within the Metropolitan City of Bari, in the Apulia region of southeastern Italy. It was a small fortified settlement of the Romans, who called it Natolium, possibly built on the ruins of the Peucete city of Netium, which was destroyed during the Punic Wars. After the Byzantine period, it became a county (later a duchy). It later developed into a thriving commercial centre, with trading links to Venice.
