Hanioti Greece

Hanioti is a relaxed seaside village on the Kassandra peninsula in Halkidiki, known for its clear waters, pine‑lined coast and easy‑going holiday atmosphere. The centre of the village is a small square with cafés, tavernas and shops, where evenings fill up with families out for a stroll, live music and the smell of grilled seafood. Even though it’s popular, Hanioti still keeps a local, intimate feel, especially if you wander a couple of streets back from the main square. The main beach runs along the front of the village, with a mix of organised areas with sunbeds and umbrellas, and quieter public stretches where you can just put down your own towel. The water is shallow and calm, great for swimming and for families with children, while water‑sports centres rent out paddleboards, kayaks and pedal boats. If you don’t mind a short walk, you’ll find little coves and small sandy and pebbly spots to the north and south of the village. Food is a big part of the appeal in Hanioti, with traditional Greek tavernas serving fresh fish, meze, grilled meats and local favourites like moussaka and stuffed vegetables. Beach bars serve snacks and cocktails with a sea view, ideal for lingering as the sun goes down. In the evenings you can choose between laid‑back wine bars, low‑key clubs with Greek and international music, or simply taking your time over a coffee in the square and watching village life go by. Hanioti also works well as a base for seeing the rest of Kassandra. Nearby Pefkochori and Polychrono are easy to get to if you fancy a change of scene, and there are plenty of boat trips along the coast or out to more secluded beaches. Inland, small villages and viewpoints look out over forests, olive groves and wide views of the Toroneos Gulf, giving you the chance to mix days on the beach with a taste of genuine rural Halkidiki.
