Laamu Atoll Maldives

Haddhunmathi, or Laamu Atoll, is one of the administrative divisions of the Maldives. Its administrative capital is Fonadhoo Island, and it corresponds to the natural atoll of the same name. The atoll is mostly edged by barrier reefs, with the widest of these crowned by islands. Numerous islands line its eastern and southern edges. Haddhummathi Atoll marks the southern boundary of the Central Maldives. Beyond the Huvadhu Kandu, the widest channel between atolls in the Maldives, lie the southern atolls. The atoll is largely bordered by barrier reefs, with the broadest sections supporting islands, and there are many islands scattered along its eastern and southern fringes.
