Luarca Spain

Ḷḷuarca in Asturian, and officially also Luarca, is a parish and the main town in the municipality of Valdés in Asturias, Spain. The town of Luarca is both a fishing harbour and a leisure marina. The parish of Luarca has a population of 4,817 (2018) and covers an area of 5.84 km² (2.25 sq mi). The town is 90 km (56 mi) from Oviedo, the capital of Asturias. The 1959 Nobel Prize winner in Medicine, Severo Ochoa, was born in Luarca.
