This city is located in Lombardy and is part of the province of Milan. The city stands 135 metres above sea level and has almost 50,000 inhabitants. Its origins date back to 300 AD, in late Roman times. The name “Cologno” actually means “colony”; in fact, the city was founded as a Roman settlement. There was an agricultural village here in the imperial era and in the early Middle Ages.
