Naousa, Paros Greece

Naousa, Paros, is one of the best‑known villages in the Cyclades. It’s located on the northeast coast of Paros, on Naousa Bay. Naousa is the second‑largest village on the island after the capital, Parikia, which is 11 km away. Even with its tourist development, Naousa has kept its traditional character. The classic Cycladic architecture of the houses, hotels and almost all the buildings in the village has made Naousa a real gem, not only of Paros but of the Cyclades in general. When you visit Naousa, don’t miss a night-time stroll through the village’s narrow lanes. There you’ll come across little hidden shops selling jewellery, traditional and contemporary clothing, local delicacies, as well as welcoming bars and restaurants. Naousa is also in a very handy spot for getting around. From the village port there are regular “ferry” services on traditional fishing boats that have been adapted to carry passengers, running about every 30 minutes depending on the destination, to the beautiful beaches around Naousa Bay, such as Kolymbithres, Monastiri, Laggeri and the Aqua Park. Other well‑known beaches near Naousa include Santa Maria, Piperi, Xifara, Agioi Anargyri and Ambelas beach. For these beaches, as well as many other places in eastern Paros, there are local buses available for getting around.
