Kalamata Greece

Kalamata is situated on the Ionian Sea, towards the centre of the Gulf of Messinia. To the east of the town, you'll find the renowned yet modestly elevated Mount Taygetus, which extends into the Mani peninsula and acts as a natural boundary between Laconia and Messinia, with Sparta as the capital of Laconia. Kalamata boasts a significant tourist port, which is a popular stop for boats. Additionally, it is the largest shopping hub in the Peloponnese, second only to Patras. Besides its archaeological sites, the city offers a subtle seaside charm, primarily enjoyed in its surrounding areas.
