Castellammare del Golfo Italy

Castellammare del Golfo is a town and municipality in the Province of Trapani in Sicily. Its name can be translated as “Sea Fortress on the Gulf”, referring to the medieval fortress in the harbour. The neighbouring stretch of water takes its name from the town and is called the Gulf of Castellammare. Rising up from its marina and harbour area, known as “Cala Marina” and lined with many restaurants and bars, the town’s layout is a network of steps and winding streets leading either towards Piazza Petrolo or up to the main public gardens. Here you’ll find the town centre, with plenty of shops, cafés and restaurants. The main street is called Corso Garibaldi. Castellammare del Golfo is often described as having one of the most beautiful peninsulas in all of Sicily.
