Parsippany, NJ United States of America

The name Parsippany comes from a sub-tribe of the Lenape Native Americans, derived from the word “parshipanong”, meaning “the place where the river winds through the valley”. Parsippany–Troy Hills is the most populous municipality in Morris County and the only one in the county with a full-time mayor. It was incorporated as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on 12 March 1928, from parts of Hanover Township, following a referendum held on 9 May 1928 that separated both East Hanover Township and Parsippany–Troy Hills from Hanover Township. Since 2006, Parsippany–Troy Hills has regularly been recognised by Money magazine as one of the best places to live in the United States.
