Kallithea, Rhodes Greece

The Kalithea spring, 8 km northeast of the medieval city of Rhodes, sits in the bay of the same name beside the beautiful Kallithea beach. Its waters have been known for their healing properties since ancient times. In 1927, work began on an award‑winning architectural complex, notable for its elegant layout, sweeping spaces, stairways, terraces and courtyards decorated with intricate pebble mosaics. After being closed for restoration since 1967, the site reopened to the public in 2007. Today visitors can once again enjoy its full splendour, with open terraces overlooking one of the most picturesque beaches on Rhodes. The beach’s appeal lies in its dramatic setting: pine and palm trees, a seafront shaped by natural stone terraces, and crystal‑clear waters framed by the striking dome of the historic Kallithea spa. The scene has a subtly oriental feel, giving the impression of an Arabian‑style oasis on the Aegean coast.
