Sunny Isles Beach is a city on a barrier island in northeast Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The city is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Intracoastal Waterway to the west. Sunny Isles Beach is a culturally diverse area, with shops lining Collins Avenue, the main road running through the city. It’s known for having the 14th tallest skyline in the United States, despite its relatively small population. It’s a growing resort destination, and developers such as Michael Dezer have invested heavily in building high-rise hotels and apartment complexes, some of which use the Donald Trump name under licence for promotional purposes. Sunny Isles Beach is centrally located, just minutes from Bal Harbour to the south and Aventura to the north and west. Sunny Isles Beach was also the site of MTV’s annual Spring Break celebration in 2008, with headquarters at the local Newport Beachside Resort.
