Santa Fe Spain

Santa Fe is a Spanish town in the province of Granada, located in the Vega de Granada and watered by the River Genil. The town was originally built around 1490 by the Catholic armies besieging Granada, after a fire destroyed much of their camp. The Capitulations of Santa Fe between Columbus and the Catholic Monarchs were signed there on 17 April 1492, shortly after the fall of Granada on 2 January 1492, and the town therefore promotes itself as “the cradle of Hispanicity.”
