Battipaglia is a town and comune in the province of Salerno, in the Campania region of southwestern Italy. The third most populous municipality in its province, the city is renowned for the production of buffalo mozzarella as well as for its diverse agricultural crops, which make it one of the most productive areas of the Sele plain (of which it is also the main industrial hub).
