Sabadell, Spain

Sabadell Spain

The city was a pioneer of the Industrial Revolution in Catalonia in the textile sector, and in the mid-19th century it became the most important wool-producing city in Spain, known as the “Catalan Manchester” in the second half of the 19th century. Today you can see numerous chimneys and former steam factories, many of them converted into social facilities such as libraries or youth centers. This textile heritage has given the city a strong industrial character. Over the last few decades, Sabadell has diversified, focusing mainly on the service sector.
