Val d'Isère is a commune in the Tarentaise Valley, in the Savoie department of southeastern France. It lies on the edge of Vanoise National Park, created in 1963. The area has hosted various alpine skiing events, including men’s giant slalom and alpine combined. The town center is very attractive and lively; its architecture is appealing and has been further improved in recent years.
