Chitwan Nepal

Chitwan District is one of the 77 districts of Nepal, situated in the southwestern region of Province No. 3. The district's headquarters is in Bharatpur, the fourth largest city in Nepal. Bharatpur serves as a commercial and service hub for central southern Nepal, and is a key destination for higher education, health care, and transportation in the area. The Chitwan National Park, Nepal's first national park, along with the neighboring Parsa National Park, support a species diversity that surpasses any other in the Indian subcontinent. These protected areas are safeguarded by a battalion of the Nepal Army and monitored by anti-poaching units. Narayangarh is the primary shopping district of Bharatpur city, and serves as the main transit point for all vehicles traveling via the east-west Mahendra Highway. It is also a key transit point for people traveling from Kathmandu, Gorkha, and Pokhara through Mugling. In recent times, Narayangarh has emerged as the retail and commercial capital of Chitwan District and Bharatpur Municipality. It is also the hub for the hospitality industry in the district, housing numerous hotels, lodges, restaurants, and serving as the transportation hub.
