Eskisehir Turkey

Eskisehir is a city in northwestern Turkey and the capital of Eskisehir Province. The city is located on the banks of the Porsuk River, overlooking the fertile Phrygian Valley. In the nearby hills there are hot springs. The city is known as a university town; both Eskisehir Osmangazi University and Anadolu University are based there. MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS • Odunpazarı – This is the only part of Eskisehir where traditional 19th‑century houses have not been demolished in favor of newer buildings. • Yazılıkaya – A rock carving left by the Phrygians with inscriptions. Yazılıkaya is south of Eskisehir, near the village of the same name. A much smaller replica can be seen in the square next to the intercity highway, across from the main gate of Yunusemre Campus of Anadolu University.
