Giovinazzo Italy

Giovinazzo is a town, municipality, and former bishopric within the Metropolitan City of Bari in the Apulia region of southeastern Italy. It was a small fortified Roman settlement called Natolium, likely built on the ruins of the Peucete town of Netium, which was destroyed during the Punic Wars. After the Byzantine period, it became a county (later a duchy). It later developed into a flourishing commercial center with trading connections to Venice.
