Invergordon is now the premier mural town of the Highlands and aims to follow in the footsteps of its inspiration, Chemainus in British Columbia. The town currently features 17 murals. The artwork, created by a range of artists, tells the stories of the local community and surrounding area. This mural trail is the result of a community project that was originally designed to bring together local community groups (17 in total took part). The trail, which was opened by the Princess Royal, is now a major tourist attraction.
