River Kwai Thailand

The Kwai Noi River (small tributary) or Kwai Sai Yok, more commonly called Kwai, is a river in western Thailand. It rises east of the Salween on the north–south spine of the Bilauktaung Range, but not on the border with Burma. This river is well known for its association with Pierre Boulle’s novel The Bridge on the River Kwai and its film adaptation. It was also featured in Michael Cimino’s Oscar-winning film The Deer Hunter. There are several attractions near the bridge over this river and all along its course. In addition, there are dozens of accommodations of different types along the river, making it a perfect option if you want to experience the most authentic side of Thailand. Don’t leave without getting to know the local culture, admiring the beautiful landscape, and tasting its cuisine.
