Kyllini is a port town in the Kastro-Kyllini municipal unit of Elis, Greece, on the coast of the Ionian Sea. It lies about 11 km west of Andravida, 28 km northeast of Zakynthos, and 39 km northwest of Pyrgos. From Kyllini’s port there are regular ferry connections to the Ionian Islands of Zakynthos and Cephalonia. The town was once the terminus of the now dismantled Kavasila–Kyllini railway. Kyllini is also home to the ruins of the medieval town of Glarentza. Its name comes from Cyllene, an ancient port town of Elis. Beyond its role as an important port in western Greece, Kyllini is a popular vacation destination. The area features many seaside hotels and luxury resorts, along with long sandy beaches and several nearby sights and traditional villages. One of the highlights of Kyllini is its thermal springs, located in a beautiful forest about 10 km from the port. Near the port, you can also visit several places of historical and cultural interest, making Kyllini an ideal stop on a road trip through the western Peloponnese.
