Lossiemouth United Kingdom

Lossiemouth is known as the Riviera of the North, with two stunning beaches—one to the east and one to the west—framing the harbour. Much of this beautiful coastal town sits atop cliffs, offering spectacular views. The West Beach is dominated by the iconic Covesea Lighthouse and lies beside the Moray Golf Course, while the East Beach meets the town at the mouth of the River Lossie (from which the town takes its name) and features beautiful sandy shores and sand dunes stretching the length of the beach. Both beaches are havens for visitors and locals to swim, surf, or build sandcastles. Lossiemouth’s white-sand beaches extend as far as the eye can see. Known to the nearly 7,000 locals as “Lossie,” the town is rapidly growing due to investment in the RAF base and overspill from nearby Elgin, which is also expanding. Running parallel to West Beach is the famous Moray Golf Club, a historic links course whose Old Course boasts ‘Old Tom Morris’ heritage. Its proximity to the RAF airfield means a round of golf often comes with a front-row view of thrilling take-offs and remarkably low landings.
