Paphos Cyprus

Located on the southwest coast of Cyprus, Paphos is a captivating destination for tourists of all ages. It's steeped in history, boasting numerous ancient sites, some of which date back to the 4th century BC, and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Paphos is famously known as the birthplace of the Greek goddess Aphrodite. Modern Paphos is split into two sections. The upper area, known as Ktima, serves as the commercial center and the old heart of Paphos, situated inland on a high rocky ledge overlooking the second part. This second part, known as Kato Paphos, is home to the main archaeological attractions, such as medieval baths, catacombs, a simple fishermen’s church, and the Paphos Archaeological Site. This site features several attractions, including the House of Dionysos and the House of Theseus, both ruins of large Roman villas renowned for their mosaics. The surrounding countryside is lush with banana plantations, citrus groves, and vineyards that extend inland to the gentle foothills of the Western Troodos Mountains. Paphos is a fascinating city, rich in ancient ruins and stunning natural beauty. It's also a fantastic vacation spot, offering beautiful beaches and charming taverns serving delicious food.
