Poissy France

Poissy is a commune in the Yvelines department in Île-de-France in north-central France. It is located in the western suburbs of Paris, 23.8 km (14.8 mi) from the center of Paris. Inhabitants are called Pisciacais. In 1561 it was the site of an inconclusive Catholic–Huguenot conference, the Colloquy of Poissy. The town later became known for hosting, in succession, the Automobiles Grégoire, Matford, Ford SAF, Simca, Chrysler, and Talbot factories, and today is home to one of France’s largest Peugeot plants. The “Simca Poissy engine” was manufactured here.
