Preveza Greece

Preveza is a city in the Epirus region of northwestern Greece, situated at the entrance of the Ambracian Gulf. It serves as the capital of the regional unit of Preveza, which is also part of the Epirus region. The Aktio-Preveza Immersed Tunnel, which is the first and currently the only underwater tunnel in Greece, was finished in 2002 and links Preveza to Aktio in western Acarnania in Aetolia-Acarnania. The remnants of the ancient city of Nicopolis are located 7 kilometers (4 miles) north of the city.
