Quimbaya Colombia

Quimbaya is a town and municipality in the western part of the department of Quindío, Colombia, located 20 km northwest of the departmental capital, Armenia. The city’s name comes from the Pre-Columbian culture that inhabited the area, the Quimbaya civilization. Quimbaya is bordered to the north and west by the Valle del Cauca Department, with the La Vieja River forming the western boundary. To the south, the Roble River marks the border with the municipalities of Montenegro and Circasia, and to the east it borders the municipality of Filandia.
