Kallithea, Rhodes Greece

Kallithea Spring lies about 5 miles (8 km) northeast of the medieval city of Rhodes, set in its namesake bay beside the beautiful Kallithea Beach. Since antiquity, the healing qualities of its waters have been renowned. In 1927, an elegant architectural complex was commissioned here, later awarded for its refined design, wide open spaces, stairways, terraces, and courtyards paved with intricate stone mosaics. Closed for restoration from 1967, the site finally reopened to the public in 2007. Today visitors can once again experience its full splendor: wide terraces opening toward the bay, one of the most picturesque stretches of coastline in Rhodes, and a beach framed by pines and palm trees. Natural stone terraces form a scenic promenade, perfect for diving into crystal‑clear waters with the striking dome of the historic Kallithea spa as a backdrop. The result is an almost oriental atmosphere, evoking the feeling of an exotic Arabian oasis on the shores of northern Rhodes.
