Roanne is a commune in the Loire department in central France, located about 90 km (56 mi) northwest of Lyon on the Loire River. The town is home to the important Musée des Beaux-arts et d'Archéologie Joseph-Déchelette, which houses many Egyptian artifacts. Roanne is known for its gastronomy—largely thanks to the renowned Troisgros family—as well as its textile industry, agriculture, and tank manufacturing.
