Windsor United Kingdom

Windsor is a historic market town and unparished area in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead in Berkshire, England. It is best known as the location of Windsor Castle, one of the official residences of the British royal family. The town lies 23 miles (37 km) west of Charing Cross in central London, 7 miles (11 km) southeast of Maidenhead, and 21 miles (34 km) east of the county town of Reading. It sits directly south of the River Thames, which forms its boundary with its historic twin town, Eton. The nearby village of Old Windsor, a little over 2 miles (3 km) to the south, is about 300 years older than what is now called Windsor; historically, Windsor was known as New Windsor to distinguish it from Old Windsor.
