Nettuno is an Italian town in the province of Rome, Lazio region, known for being the town where Santa María Goretti lived and died. Nettuno is a popular tourist destination, an agricultural and industrial center. A part of the city is within the medieval walls and, in the outskirts, is the noble Forte Sangallo (1501), an example of modern fortification built by the Renaissance architect Antonio da Sangallo the Elder, for Pope Alexander VI.
