Cornaredo Italy

The oldest part of the municipality of Cornaredo is the hamlet of San Pietro all’Olmo, situated along the old road to Vercellas. Since the Middle Ages the area has been rich in important agricultural resources: cereal crops, pastureland, vineyards, numerous pig farms and mulberry plantations for silkworms. Towards the end of the nineteenth century, the town’s economy changed direction in a way that greatly altered its appearance. The first weekend in September is marked by the village festival, commemorating the consecration of the parish church dedicated to Saints James and Philip.
