Lazio is one of the 20 administrative regions of Italy. Located in the central part of the peninsula, it has about 5,897,635 inhabitants, making it the second most populated region of Italy (after Lombardy and just ahead of Campania). With an annual GDP of more than €170 billion, it also has the country’s second largest regional economy. The capital of Lazio is Rome, which is also the capital of Italy and its largest city.
