Denizli is an industrial city located at the eastern end of the alluvial valley formed by the Büyük Menderes River, where the plain reaches an elevation of about one hundred meters, in southwestern Turkey, in the Aegean Region. Denizli is also a tourist destination, known for the thermal waters of Pamukkale and the ancient city of Hierapolis, as well as the ruins of the city of Laodicea, the former metropolis of Phrygia. Near Honaz, about 15 km west of Denizli, you can find the site of Colossae, a city that flourished in the 1st century BC.
